Uncle Scott & Aunt Amy visit

Uncle Scott and Aunt Amy came to visit when Rowan was 6 weeks old. Reese enjoyed their visit immensely, showing off her room, toys, and little brother.

Rowan arrived!

Shamefully, I am updating this blog almost 4 months later. What can I say, a 2nd baby has required a little adjusting.

Rowan arrived April 30, 2008. He was 17 days early and came within 52 minutes of my water breaking at home. Despite the anxiety and 100 mph drive to the hospital, he was perfect, healthy and arrived 4 minutes after arriving. Reese was there to witness everything which was not part of the plan. She was a terrific daughter and big sister letting me know "the Dr. would make my tummy all better."

Reese moved into her big girl room just after Easter. Here are some pictures of the princess room. Rowan has a very blue room so that she really gets that he'll be a boy.

Getting ready for school

I never know what Reese is going to come up with before school. These are just a few hiding spots and outfits she picked out.

Trip to Dallas

We took a recent trip to Dallas to have some family/maternity photos taken with Andie Hamilton, a photographer we love. This is our favorite shot of Reese, her blue eyes melt my heart. There are many other terrific one's that will be displayed throughout our house. We hope to make it back when Rowan is about 6 months to get some of the two of them.

Easter

This year we spent Easter at Nana and Granpa's in Kerrville. Our last trip out of town for a while. Rowan is expected Mid-May, but I'll be shocked if he waits that long to meet his big sister. Reese enjoyed dying eggs, hunting for eggs and, of course, all the treats the Easter Bunny left her. It's so fun that she finally gets all the holidays and activities.

Trip to the zoo with Mom and Dad

Dad's new job is great! I say "new," it's been over a year. He gets every holiday the banks get. So, that included President's Day. We took a family trip to the Austin Zoo, nothing compared to the fabulous Audobon Zoo I grew up with. Anyway, sorry if I offended anyone, but really! Reese had a great time, minus the birds!

Stitches, 3rd trip to ER

Well, for having a prissy, cautious little girl, we sure spend a lot of time in the ER. Our 3rd trip to the ER since we became parents to little Ms. Reesey Piecey was to get stitches on her cute little face. Just heart breaking to have that happen. Since I haven't updated my blog in FOREVER, I can say the healing is going just fine. I think the scar will be minimal and hidden in her eyebrows, especially if she inherits mine. :-)

What happened?!?! Reese and her VERY active imagination got her in trouble on the playground. She and her friend Lizzie were running from bears when she tripped and fell onto a pole on the playground. Luckily, her eye was spared and she knicked her forehead instead.

Santa came to Reesey's House

As Reese would say, "Santa came to Reesey's House." Having a 2 year old at Christmas was TERRIFIC. I never thought the day would come that Paul and I and Reese's grandparents would have so much fun making one little girl happy at Christmas. Granpa and Nana brought a giant train that can circle our Christmas tree for year's to come. Santa brought Reese a 4 foot doll house that will be played with for years, it even has an elevator. I wish we did!

Reese enjoyed making and decorating cookies for Santa. But, the next morning when she realized he ate them ALL, she was ticked! Can't wait for next year when we have 2, where will we put all the stuff.

Gingerbread House

We went to the Austin Children's Museum to build our gingerbread house again this year. Reese thoroughly enjoyed herself, those tiny hands of hers are the perfect size for decorating the house. Afterwards, we played for a while and met her dad for lunch. She had a great day!

Christmas Pageant

Reese didn't sing at this year's Christmas Pageant. Big Shocker! Thankfully, I guess, it must be an age thing because her two buddies Kate and Brayden did the same. It was still enjoyable to watch them all glance around the room. Of course, when it was all done Reese started crying because she is so short she could not find me in the room. We keep telling her she will grow up to be BIG and STRONG. If only she'd eat.
